A 50 to 60m motor yacht running the Sporades in the 2026 peak window (mid-June to early September) carries a weekly rate of $360,000 to $580,000 per week plus 27 to 29 percent APA, takes 10 to 12 guests on the 6-cabin standard, and runs 14 to 17 crew. The Sporades chain (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, and the eastern uninhabited cluster) sits in the northwestern Aegean and the bracket runs Skiathos main port on the southeastern face of Skiathos or the supplementary Skopelos main port on the southern face of Skopelos on prior arrangement at the harbour master. Skiathos airport (JSI) sits 2 kilometres from the main port and runs daily-direct Athens plus seasonal-direct London, Vienna, and Stockholm traffic, which makes Skiathos a structural alternative embarkation to Athens for the northern Aegean week. Roughly 3 to 5 yachts in this LOA touch the Sporades in a typical peak week, with the bracket treating the chain as a quieter alternative to the Cyclades for the meltemi-shadow trip.
Why the bracket runs the Sporades
The Skiathos main port. Skiathos main port on the southeastern face of Skiathos handles the 60m line on prior arrangement at the southern commercial quay, with the supplementary inside berths reserved for the day-charter and shoulder traffic. The Skiathos shore programme (the Bourtzi peninsula at the port mouth, Papadiamantis Street and the eastern Lalaria beach day-call) runs the structural shore evening and the chief stew's bench on the eastern Skiathos beach-restaurant chain (the Skiathos Princess at Agia Paraskevi, the Saint George Lycabettus alumni at the tavernas) is the structural broker-side question at inquiry.
The Skopelos main port. Skopelos main port on the southern face of Skopelos handles the supplementary stern-to for the 50m-and-up bracket on prior arrangement, with the depth running 5 to 8 metres at the inner face. The Skopelos shore programme (the Mamma Mia chapel of Agios Ioannis on the eastern face at 5 kilometres, the old-town hilltop and the Bourtzi tower) runs the structural daylight programme and the bracket holds the supplementary overnight at the inner harbour or the eastern Stafylos and Velanio bay anchors.
The Alonissos marine park. The Alonissos marine park (the National Marine Park of Alonissos and the Northern Sporades) is the bracket's structural daylight programme through the chain. The park covers Alonissos plus the eastern uninhabited Peristera, Kyra Panagia, Yura, Skantzoura, and Piperi clusters in the protected zone for the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus). The bracket holds the daylight at-anchor on the inner Peristera and Kyra Panagia bays, with the Yura and Piperi outer-cluster representations running the supplementary observer-only no-tender protocol. The captain's prior tenure on the marine-park clearance and the daily Alonissos port-authority sign-off reads through the brief.
What you actually get in this bracket at the Sporades
Cabins. Six standard. The 6-cabin northern-Aegean week reads through the Sporades as the structural three to four-night chain plus the Alonissos marine-park daylight day-calls.
Crew. Fourteen to seventeen. Greek-flag charter list dominates the Sporades fleet and the captain plus chief stew hold the Greek-language operational fluency on the Skiathos and Skopelos harbour masters. The chief stew's prior bench on the eastern Skiathos beach-restaurant chain and the Mamma Mia private-tour brief is the structural broker-side question at inquiry.
Tenders. Primary 10 to 12m for the Skiathos and Skopelos harbour shuttle, secondary 7 to 8m for the at-anchor lunch programme at the Lalaria western Skiathos cave anchor and the Peristera inner bays, plus a chase boat for the daytime water-sports brief (the marine-park inner zone reads through the captain's daily authorisation on the chase-boat use). The Sporades tender programme runs through the week.
At-anchor stabilizers. Required. The Stafylos and Velanio eastern Skopelos overnights and the Peristera daylight anchors run the at-anchor stabilizers through the calm-water window and the supplementary eastern Skiathos Tsougria channel overnight runs the at-anchor load. The 2018-and-newer hulls run the structural zero-speed product.
Beach club. Required at the Sporades. The Lalaria western Skiathos cave anchor, the Velanio Skopelos eastern bay, and the Peristera inner-channel daylight run the beach club open through the swim brief and the bracket runs the fold-out terraces hard through the daylight window.
Helipad. Cat A useful at the upper end. The Athens-to-Skiathos 30-minute fixed-wing rotation handles the inbound through JSI and the helipad runs the structural option for the inter-island Alonissos and Skopelos daytime transfer on the multi-rotation brief.
Trip shape that fits the bracket
The Sporades runs the structural northern-Aegean week as a meltemi-shadow alternative to the Cyclades. The 7-night Sporades-only runs Skiathos (main port) two nights with the Lalaria cave daylight and the Koukounaries western-face anchor, day-call to Tsougria south of Skiathos, two nights Skopelos main port with the Stafylos and Velanio eastern-bay anchors and the Mamma Mia chapel daylight, two nights Alonissos with the Peristera and Kyra Panagia marine-park daylight, return Skiathos via the supplementary northern Skopelos route. Seven nights. The Skiathos leg holds the dressed-evening Papadiamantis Street brief on night one and the Skopelos old-town hilltop on the supplementary overnight.
For the 10-night Sporades-and-Pelion charter the bracket runs the supplementary southern crossing to the Pelion peninsula and the Pagasetic Gulf at 25 nautical miles southwest for the eastern Pelion shore villages (Damouchari, Mylopotamos) on the additional three-night leg. For destination context see Charter Greece, Charter Cyclades, and the Mediterranean charter weekly rates report.
What the bracket does not do well at the Sporades
The Skopelos main-port inner stern-to in the bracket-fit overnight. The Skopelos inner harbour runs 5 to 8 metres depth and the bracket's 55m-and-up overnight is structurally not the slot; the eastern Stafylos and Velanio bays are the structural at-anchor overnight. We would pass on Skopelos inner-harbour overnight representations at the 55m-and-up bracket and hold the eastern-bay anchor instead.
The Alonissos marine-park inner zone without prior captain authorisation. The marine-park inner cluster (Yura, Piperi, the strict-protection zone) runs the supplementary observer-only no-tender protocol and the bracket-fit daylight at the inner zone requires the captain's daily port-authority sign-off plus the on-board park-warden brief. We would pass on broker representations of the inner-zone daylight that do not confirm the clearance protocol and the warden hosting in writing.
The single-week Skiathos-only hold at the bracket. Skiathos alone reads through a two-night embarkation and the bracket-fit week without the Skopelos and Alonissos legs flattens the trip rhythm. We would pass on broker representations of a 7-night Skiathos-only week at the bracket and suggest the structural Skiathos plus Skopelos plus Alonissos shape.
