Bodrum Town's central marina (Milta Bodrum Marina) holds the bracket on the outer pier only and is not the operational base for 55m+ at peak; the volume answer is Yalikavak on the northern peninsula. The week's program is a Gokova-and-Hisaronu anchorage week with the marina nights at the bookends. Charters starting and ending in Turkey are VAT-exempt under the Turkish-flag commercial regime, which is the structural cost lever for the bracket.
Why Yalikavak Marina is the bracket's base
Yalikavak Marina on the northwest tip of the Bodrum peninsula was rebuilt in 2014 specifically as a big-yacht marina. The outer pier (Pier Z) holds 60m plus on permanent mooring lines, the inner outer assignment grid takes the 50 to 60m bracket on 14 to 20 slots, and the shoreside service (concierge, customs clearance, fuel barge, provisioning) is the strongest on the Aegean Turkish coast. Yalikavak is also the standard embarkation point for the bracket's Middle East booking through Istanbul.
D-Marin Turgutreis on the southwest of the peninsula takes the bracket on a confirmed reservation on the outer berth, with a stronger shoreside service than the Milta Bodrum Marina in town. Milta Bodrum Marina (the town marina) holds 50 to 60m yachts on the outer berth only, with 4 to 6 slots, and is typically used by yachts already booked for a specific Bodrum-town event night rather than as the operational base.
The Bodrum anchorage answers are the Gumusluk lee on the west coast (good for sunset dinner ashore at Mimoza), the Yalikavak roadstead off Xuma Beach Club, the Akyarlar anchorage on the south, and the eastern Datca peninsula anchorages just across the gulf (Inceburun, Mesudiye, and Datca town). The bracket does not anchor in the Bodrum town roadstead for more than a few hours because the afternoon meltemi onshore breeze chops it up quickly.

What is in the bracket in this bracket
Cabins. 6 cabins standard, 7 at the upper end. The Middle East share of the Bodrum booking weights toward a strong principal-suite and second-VIP layout and the convertible-twin spec matters less than on the European bookings.
Crew. 14 to 17. The Bodrum captain bench is the strongest in Turkey and the recruiting depth at deck and engineering is strong. The chief stew and chef question is the rate-limiting factor for charter clients with European fine-dining expectations and should be specified at inquiry.
Tenders. Primary 9 to 10m, secondary 7m. The Bodrum tender program runs the secondary boat hard for the Gumusluk and Akyarlar beach drops. Twin tenders are standard.
At-anchor stabilizers. Required. The meltemi afternoon onshore breeze through Gokova and the Datca anchorages makes the at-anchor stabilizer a charter-experience variable, not a marginal one.

What the bracket does not do well in Bodrum
Milta Bodrum Marina as a full-week base. The town marina is workable for an event night but the slot count above 50m is too thin to base a week from it. The bracket should book Yalikavak as the base.
Bodrum town roadstead overnight. Not viable on a meltemi afternoon. The bracket should plan to be at Yalikavak or in the Datca peninsula lee at the overnight switchover.
Cross-border Greek weeks starting in Bodrum. Trip-Greek-VAT on a Turkish-flag yacht as soon as the charter starts and ends in Greece. The Symi day visit is a structured port-of-call visit, not a leg of a charter that embarks in Athens.

Build year, refit, condition
The Bodrum 50 to 60m fleet is dominated by Turkish-flag Bilgin, Mengi-Yay, and Sirena builds from the 2018 to 2024 window, with a meaningful share of Italian and Dutch tonnage repositioned in for the Turkish charter season. A 2018 to 2024 build with a 2023 or later refit is the realistic ask. We would pass on units running original 2010-era kit because the August heat load is structurally hard on legacy HVAC systems, and on any captain with fewer than two meltemi seasons logged at this bracket.
