A 40 to 50m yacht Turks and Caicos in winter 2026 (December through April) runs $150,000 to $235,000 per week plus 30 percent APA, takes 8 to 12 guests, and runs most commonly as the eastern bookend of a paired Exumas to T&C charter rather than a standalone week. The active 40 to 50m fleet based at Providenciales in central winter is small, estimated at 6 to 10 yachts at peak, because the Turks and Caicos shore infrastructure is the limiting factor at this bracket and most operators run a Bahamas-titled embarkation with a Caicos extension rather than a T&C-titled embarkation. Blue Haven Marina at Providenciales is the only meaningful 40 to 50m commercial base on the islands.

Why the bracket fits Turks and Caicos specifically

Turks and Caicos sits at the northeast corner of the Bahamas archipelago, 350 nautical miles east of Nassau and 100 nautical miles north of the Dominican Republic. The cruising ground is the Caicos Bank to the south of Providenciales, the West Caicos run, French Cay, and the Plana Cays eastern run toward Mayaguana and Inagua. The Caicos Bank is shallow, with controlling depths of 2.5 to 3 metres across much of the central bank, and the 40 to 50m bracket runs against the bank's draft limit on any yacht with a draft above 2.8 metres. Yachts with drafts above 3 metres run the deep-water Atlantic side rather than the bank.

The case at this bracket is the combination of the Providenciales shore base, the Grace Bay and West Caicos daytime anchorages, and the Bahamas crossover. The standalone T&C charter at 40 to 50m is a thin product; the corridor-titled charter from Nassau or the Exumas with a T&C eastern leg is the genuine offering on the bracket. Weekly rate map for winter 2026

Rates below are high season (mid-December through mid-April) for winter 2025-26 and winter 2026-27, before APA at 30 percent and crew gratuity at 10 to 15 percent. There is no equivalent of European VAT structuring; the Turks and Caicos commercial framework runs on the Belonger and non-resident license regime, and the standard 40 to 50m commercial yacht operates under a temporary cruising permit.

The Christmas and New Year weeks (typically 21 December through 5 January) price at a 40 to 70 percent premium against the central January and February rate, and the bracket on the T&C corridor sees a higher Christmas premium than the Bahamas equivalent because the bracket inventory is thinner. The shoulder weeks at the start of December and the second half of April drop the figure by 20 to 30 percent.

What you actually get in this bracket

Cabins. Five to six. The Caribbean motor yacht fleet at 40 to 50m on the T&C corridor runs the standard 5-cabin layout, with a smaller fraction of European-built yachts in the 6-cabin convertible configuration.

Crew. Nine to thirteen. The captain bench for T&C is the same Bahamas-Caribbean pool that runs the broader corridor, with a smaller specialist subset that holds genuine Caicos Bank pilotage experience. The shallow-bank cruising at this bracket rewards a captain with multiple seasons of bank experience, particularly for the West Caicos to French Cay transit and the South Caicos eastern run. Tenders. A primary 9 to 11m fast tender plus a 6 to 7m beach tender. The Caicos Bank program is tender-heavy because the yacht typically anchors on the outer edge of the bank in deeper water while guests run the bank's snorkel sites and the shallow-water sandbars on the tender.

At-rest stabilizers. Required. The Providenciales north-shore anchorages take winter northern swell episodes through January and February and the at-rest spec is the difference between a workable and a non-workable charter night during a swell episode.

Beach club. Standard at this bracket. Heavily used in the West Caicos and French Cay daytime program.

Helipad. Touch-and-go pad on the upper end. Providenciales International Airport is 8 kilometres from Blue Haven Marina; helicopter transfer is uncommon at the bracket because the road transfer is 12 minutes. For the eastern bracket extending to South Caicos or the Plana Cays, the helipad becomes a meaningful asset for crew rotation and last-minute provisioning runs.

The standard weekly itinerary

The seven-night T&C-titled charter at this bracket reads as a Caicos Bank exploration with a Bahamas crossover. Day one: Blue Haven embarkation with overnight at Grace Bay outer. Day two: West Caicos and French Cay daytime, French Cay overnight on the western lee. Day three: Caicos Bank southern transit to South Caicos with overnight at Cockburn Harbour. Day four: South Caicos and the eastern Plana Cays daytime. Day five: return run via Middle Caicos and the Mudjin Harbour stop. Day six: Providenciales north-shore anchorages at Pine Cay or Water Cay. Day seven: final approach into Blue Haven.

A 10 to 14 night paired week with the Bahamas adds the Plana Cays to Mayaguana transit and the Inagua eastern run, or alternatively a westward leg to Mayaguana, Acklins, Long Island, and into the Exumas. The Bahamas-titled charter with a T&C eastern leg is more common at the bracket than the reverse and the operational arithmetic favors the Bahamas embarkation for the deeper-water leg.

Embarkation logistics

Blue Haven Marina at Providenciales handles the 40 to 50m bracket on the main quay with notice; the marina was developed specifically to fill the 40 to 50m gap on the corridor and is the only meaningful commercial base on the islands at this bracket. South Side Marina handles the lower end of the bracket but the depth limits below 45m. Providenciales International Airport handles the dominant share of embarkation arrivals at 8 kilometres from Blue Haven; the airport has a general-aviation terminal that handles private aviation reasonably well.

What we passed on

Yachts above 3.0 metres draft for a Caicos Bank itinerary. The shallow bank is the experience that justifies the corridor; a deep-draft yacht runs the Atlantic side and trades the bank for the open-water passages, which thins the charter product materially. Ask for the operating draft (not just the deep draft) at inquiry. Also pass on the standalone T&C 7-night charter at the lower end of the bracket; the corridor variety thins after day four and the paired Bahamas week is the rational product. And pass on yachts that have not run the Bahamas-T&C Customs clearance routine in the previous season; the clearance is straightforward but it benefits from recent local familiarity and a Bahamas-based captain making his first T&C crossing in February is not the right asset for the bracket.
