Gocek pricing sits roughly 3 to 5 percent below Bodrum at the same LOA, primarily because the Bodrum demand curve runs longer through the season and the Yalikavak slip pressure carries higher peak premiums. What the bracket buys you in this bracket

Cabins. 5 to 6-cabin layouts dominate. The Gocek-based 40 to 50m motor yacht inventory leans toward charter-optimised 5 to 6-cabin layouts more than the Bodrum equivalent, because the bay-based week rewards the higher guest count at the same LOA.

Crew. 9 to 13. Gocek crews are the strongest in Turkey for inner-bay tender handling and stern-tie mooring in the Skopea bays. The exterior crew bench is excellent. The galley and chief stew bench is workable but narrower than Antibes for clients with strict European fine-dining expectations; specify the chef's training background at inquiry.

Tenders. A primary 9m fast tender plus a 6 to 7m beach tender, with a small inflatable as the third unit on the upper bracket. Tomb Bay and Wall Bay reward a beach tender that can clear the lay lines without ducking under the stern-tie ropes; Bedri Rahmi rewards the same for the morning swim platform.

At-rest stabilizers. Required. The Skopea bays are protected enough that the at-rest swell load is lower than Bodrum, but the meltemi reaches into Sarsala and Manastir from late July through August and the Kekova extension exposes the yacht to longer at-rest swell windows.

Helipad. Useful at the upper end of the bracket. Dalaman airport is the embarkation transfer at 25 minutes; the helicopter shuttle from Dalaman to D-Marin Gocek saves the road run in central August traffic and is the practical mid-charter shore guest pickup at the Skopea bays where road access is structurally limited.

Trip shapes that fit the bracket

The pure Skopea week. Embark Gocek, work Tomb Bay, Wall Bay, Bedri Rahmi, Boynuz, Sarsala, return via Manastir or Yassicalar, disembark Gocek. Seven nights, six anchorages, zero marina nights between bookends. The bracket fits the entire run.

The Gocek to Kas ten to twelve-night. Embark Gocek, work the Skopea bays for two nights, transit through Kalkan to Kekova for three nights, finish Kas with overland day trips to Patara and Xanthos. Ten to twelve nights. Best at the upper end of the bracket for the at-rest comfort across the Kekova lagoon and for the open-water reliability south of Kalkan.

The Symi cross-border day. Embark Gocek, position to Datca overnight, day-visit Symi via the Bozburun strait, return through the Hisaronu Gulf to the Gocek bays. Seven nights total. Requires a Turkish-flag yacht with a current transit log.

What the bracket does not do well in Gocek

Port-hopping weeks. Gocek rewards the bay-based week at this bracket, not a marina-night-driven itinerary. Charter clients who want a Bodrum-Marmaris-Fethiye marina rotation should consider the Bodrum bracket instead.

August at the named anchorages. Tomb Bay, Wall Bay, and Bedri Rahmi run dense from 20 July through 25 August. The named anchorages do not have a stern-tie reservation system; first-on-the-water gets the inner positions and the late arrivals end up on the outer chain. Captain timing matters more than yacht size at the bracket in peak.

Long-passage international weeks. The Gocek to Crete or Gocek to Cyprus runs are inappropriate at the bracket because the open-water passage breaks the trip rhythm and the cross-border VAT exposure is severe.

Build, refit, what to ask

The Gocek-based 40 to 50m fleet carries a higher share of European builds than the Bodrum-flag pool because the Gocek operator base buys repositioned Italian, Dutch, and Turkish yard tonnage for the eastern season. A 2017 to 2024 Italian or Bilgin build with a 2022 or later refit prices well against the equivalent Mengi-Yay at the same year. Older 2008 to 2012 European tonnage works only with a comprehensive refit covering AV, HVAC, and at-rest stabilizers; we would pass on units with original kit because the August heat load is the same as Bodrum even where the bays sit deeper in the bracket and where the inner-bay positions reduce ventilation airflow.
