Canouan at 40 to 50m is the bracket's only alongside marina in the Grenadines and the chain's structural midpoint between Bequia at the north and the Tobago Cays at the south. A 40 to 50m motor yacht Canouan in winter 2026 (December through April) runs $200,000 to $295,000 per week plus 30 percent APA, takes 8 to 12 guests, and embarks Rodney Bay in St Lucia 95 nautical miles to the north or Port Louis Marina in Grenada 35 nautical miles to the south. The active 40 to 50m fleet using Canouan through any given winter is roughly 14 yachts, the majority running the island as an alongside-marina overnight on a chain charter and the upper end using the Sandy Lane Yacht Club berths for week-stationary holds tied to the Mandarin Oriental and Soho House programmes.

Why the bracket reads Canouan as the chain's marina

Canouan sits 12 nautical miles south of Mustique and 8 nautical miles north of Mayreau, and the island's western leeward side carries Glossy Bay (the marina and Mandarin Oriental anchor) and Charlestown Bay (the older anchored hold and the village). The Sandy Lane Yacht Club marina at Glossy Bay opened in 2017, runs alongside berthing at the bracket on the inner pontoons with concierge clearance through the marina office, and is the only marina in the Grenadines chain that handles the bracket alongside. The marina depth runs at 4.5 metres on the inner berths and 6 metres on the outer pontoon.

Charlestown Bay on the central leeward side holds the bracket at anchor on a sand bottom in 8 to 14 metres at the outer roads with shore landings to Charlestown village. The southern bay at Mahault and the L'Anse Guyac on the southwestern lobe handle day-anchor positions for the bracket on a leeward-side day-shuttle programme. The Soho House club at the southern hill runs a day-club product tied to the marina membership and the Sandy Lane Yacht Club restaurant on the marina runs the dining anchor.

Weekly rate map for 2026 to 2027 season

Rates below are for peak weeks (Christmas through New Year, President's Day week, late January Mustique Blues Festival window) for the 2026 to 2027 season, before APA at 30 percent and gratuity at 12 to 15 percent. Canouan sits in the St Vincent and the Grenadines charter VAT regime at a moderate rate against the French Caribbean. The Glossy Bay Marina berthing fees and the Sandy Lane Yacht Club access fees run through the APA at the alongside arrangement.

LOA bracket Motor yacht (low to high) Sailing yacht and large catamaran (low to high)
40 to 43m $200K to $230K per week $170K to $200K per week
43 to 47m $230K to $265K per week $195K to $230K per week
47 to 50m $260K to $295K per week $220K to $260K per week

Off-peak Caribbean season (mid-January outside the Blues Festival, March outside President's week, and early April) runs roughly 20 to 28 percent below the peak headline. The Canouan all-in week at peak runs roughly 5 to 8 percent above the equivalent Bequia week at the same LOA because of the alongside marina premium, and roughly 4 to 6 percent below the equivalent Mustique week because the destination's controlled-mooring scarcity is structurally less acute.

What the bracket includes in this bracket

Cabins. Five to six. The Canouan pattern at the bracket runs across multi-couple weeks tied to the Mandarin Oriental and Soho House programmes, family Christmas weeks built around the Sandy Lane Yacht Club marina, and friend-group February weeks. The 5-cabin Caribbean standard runs the inventory.

Crew. Nine to twelve. The Canouan crew bench is workable through the marina concierge and the Sandy Lane Yacht Club service infrastructure, with substitution flying in via Barbados or St Lucia on a 24 to 48 hour lead time. Captain familiarity with the Glossy Bay Marina approach (the entrance has limited swing room at the inner berths and the bracket runs the outer pontoon on the upper end), and the Charlestown Bay anchor positions, is the variable that decides whether the marina alongside runs cleanly. Confirm captain prior Glossy Bay tenure at inquiry.

Tenders. A primary 9 to 10m fast tender plus a 6 to 7m secondary. The marina alongside reduces the tender share against an anchored hold, but the day-shuttle programme to L'Anse Guyac, Mahault, and the southern Soho House landing runs on the secondary. The Charlestown shore landing takes the secondary on the inner approach.

At-anchor stabilizers. Required when holding at anchor in Charlestown Bay or on the southern bays. Not load-bearing on the Glossy Bay Marina alongside arrangement, where the marina shelter runs the comfort variable. The marina alongside is the destination's structural product separation against Bequia and Mustique.

Helipad. Useful at the upper end of the bracket. The Canouan Airport handles direct fixed-wing from St Lucia and Barbados on regular rotation, and the helicopter improves the Mustique day-shuttle and the inter-island corridor logistics. Touch-and-go capable yachts hold a marginal advantage on the bracket here, less structural than the Mustique equivalent because the Canouan airport handles a meaningful share of the inbound-guest logistics direct.

Trip shapes that fit the bracket

The Canouan stationary five-night at the marina with chain bookends. Embark Rodney Bay St Lucia, position south to Bequia for one night, Mustique for one night, Canouan for five nights at Glossy Bay Marina with day-shuttles to Mayreau, the Tobago Cays, and the southern bays, return Bequia, disembark Rodney Bay. Eight to ten nights. Suits multi-couple weeks tied to the Mandarin Oriental and Soho House programmes where the alongside marina is the trip's anchor.

The Grenadines full chain seven-night with Canouan alongside midnight. Embark Rodney Bay, Bequia for two nights, Mustique for two nights, Canouan alongside at Glossy Bay for one night with the dining programme at the Sandy Lane Yacht Club, Tobago Cays for two nights, disembark Union Island or Port Louis Grenada one-way. Seven nights. The standard chain pattern with Canouan as the alongside midpoint.

The Canouan and Tobago Cays four-night family. Embark Port Louis Marina Grenada, position north to Canouan for two nights at Glossy Bay, day-shuttle to the Tobago Cays for the snorkel programme, position to Mayreau for one night, return Port Louis. Four to five nights. Suits short-week family Christmas trips where the southern Grenadines compress into a focused product on the alongside marina.

What the bracket does not do well at Canouan

Stand-alone Canouan seven-night charters at the bracket. The Canouan cruising ground inside the island's leeward shelf is a structural three to four-day product and the seven-night standalone charter compresses after the first half of the week. Build Canouan as a stationary alongside hold inside a chain charter or as a marina midpoint on the chain pattern.

Glossy Bay Marina inner-berth attempts at the upper end of the bracket. The inner berths run on swing-room and depth constraints that limit the upper end of the bracket and the outer pontoon is the alongside arrangement above 45m. Confirm berth assignment at contract.

Hurricane-season weeks. The Grenadines hurricane exposure runs through August and September with reduced amenity capacity across the chain and the Canouan resort programme runs at significantly reduced occupancy. Weeks priced into June to October at the bracket carry weather risk that the Mediterranean reposition does not.

Charters that bypass the alongside marina to anchor in Charlestown Bay. The Charlestown anchorage works structurally but the destination's product separation against Bequia and Mustique runs through the Glossy Bay Marina alongside arrangement and the Sandy Lane Yacht Club service infrastructure. Skipping the alongside in favour of Charlestown anchored gives up the destination's defining product for a slightly cheaper berth and we would push back on any itinerary that does that without a structural reason.
