Phuket is the Southeast Asia charter base when you want a 7-day Andaman Sea week with European-grade marina infrastructure. The fleet running here in 2026 includes roughly 20 to 25 motor yachts in the 25m to 60m range, plus a separate fleet of 40 to 50 sailing catamarans. Charter rates run $45K to $90K per week for the Thai-flag fleet (mostly catamarans and 30m-class motor yachts) and $190K to $420K for international-flag motor yachts in the 40m to 60m range. APA runs 25 to 35%. Most rates as of May 2026.

The charter season runs November to April. December to February is peak. The Similan and Surin Islands marine park, the strongest reef diving in the region, is closed by Thai national park authority from mid-May to mid-October. May to October is the southwest monsoon and most of the international fleet repositions to the Med via Sri Lanka and the Suez, or reverses to Komodo.

The reason this charter is "oversimplified" by brokers: the standard pitch combines Phang Nga Bay, the Phi Phi Islands, Krabi, and the Similan Islands as a "complete Andaman week." All four cruising grounds are real. None of them combine well in a single 7-day charter. The right Phuket week picks two and runs them well.
