Luminosity is a 107m Benetti delivered in 2020, 12 guests in 6 cabins, asking €1.65M to €2.0M per week Mediterranean peak as of May 2026 plus 30 percent APA and VAT where applicable. She is the largest Benetti charter platform alongside Lana (also 107m, delivered 2018), and the case for her separates from Lana on two points. Luminosity is hybrid diesel-electric with battery support. Lana is conventional propulsion. Luminosity has 6 cabins. Lana has 9. The two yachts are not interchangeable charter inventory and the broker shortlist treats them as different products.

The reason a charter party would pick Luminosity over Lana is the cabin size and the silent-at-anchor running. The reason a charter party would pick Lana is the cabin count. This piece is the detail on Luminosity specifically.

Specs

107m LOA,,. Steel hull, aluminium superstructure. Built by Benetti at the Livorno yard, delivered 2020. Exterior design by Giorgio M. Cassetta, interior design by Zuretti Interior Design. Class.

The 4.0m draft at 107m is genuinely advantageous. Comparable 100m-plus motor yachts run 4.5m to 5.5m draft, and the shallower number on Luminosity opens up the same inner-bay anchorages that the Mediterranean cruise plan benefits from. For a 107m platform to anchor inside Spetses, inside the Aeolian inner bays, or close to the Amalfi rocks rather than out in the roadstead is meaningful.

Twelve guests across 6 cabins is the structural fact. Owner suite on the bridge deck spanning the full beam, master with private terrace and study. Five lower-deck cabins (typically two VIPs, two doubles, one twin-convertible). The 6-cabin format means each cabin is substantially larger than a 9-cabin equivalent. The owner suite on Luminosity reads as a hotel-suite layout, not a cabin layout. The downside is that twelve adults in six cabins requires three couples per pair-of-cabins, which works for some parties and not for others. A multi-generational family of three couples and three single adults works. A party of twelve singles does not.

Crew complement is. Captain, two officers, three engineers, ten interior, four deck, three chefs. Helicopter pad on the foredeck,. Tender garage with two tenders, four jet skis, two Seabobs, full dive set,.

The hybrid propulsion package, which is the actual reason to look at her

Luminosity is diesel-electric with battery support. The propulsion package is with. The system runs the propulsion through electric motors fed by either generator load or battery, with the battery bank covering low-load operations and silent-at-anchor running.

What this means in practice. At anchor, Luminosity can run hotel load (HVAC, galley, lighting, AV) on the battery bank for 4 to 6 hours without any generator running, which is silent-at-anchor in the actual sense. For a charter party that has spent any evening at anchor on a conventional 80m-plus where a generator is running through dinner, the difference is large.

At low cruise speeds (8 to 10 knots), the electric motors can run on a single generator at high efficiency rather than the conventional twin-engine partial-load profile. The fuel saving against a comparable conventional platform is 20 to 30 percent in the typical Mediterranean week's mix of low-speed and at-anchor operation.

At cruise (14 to 16 knots) and at top end, the hybrid advantage is smaller. The package is optimised for low-load and at-anchor, not for offshore cruise efficiency. For Mediterranean week charters where the typical day is 30 to 60 nautical miles and the typical evening is an anchorage, this is the right optimisation.

For a charter party comparing Luminosity to Lana on environmental footprint, the comparison strongly favours Luminosity. For a charter party comparing on cabin count or on standing space per guest, the comparison goes the other way.

The rate, what it covers, and the APA picture

Asking €1.65M to €2.0M per week Mediterranean peak (July through early September), €1.4M to €1.65M shoulder (May, June, late September, October). Rates as of May 2026 via the central agent. Caribbean season.

APA at 30 percent. On a €1.85M base that is €555K. Mediterranean charters on Luminosity reconcile at 60 to 75 percent of APA, with the hybrid propulsion the structural reason for the lower draw-down at the bottom of the range. At-anchor evenings on battery do not draw fuel. Low-speed cruise on single-generator efficiency does not draw fuel at the conventional twin-engine rate. The APA outcome on Luminosity is one of the closest comparables to a sailing-yacht reconciliation profile in the 100m-plus motor-yacht class.

All-in for a peak Mediterranean week (charter fee, realistic APA at 70 percent, gratuity at 10 to 12 percent, VAT) lands around €2.5M to €2.95M. Compared to Lana at €2.3M to €2.7M all-in (lower base, higher APA draw-down) and Madsummer at €2.8M to €3.3M, Luminosity sits in the middle of the 100m-plus charter bracket on total cost.

The captain, the crew, and the food

Captain. Crew tenure on a hybrid 107m platform requires a specific competency set that is not universal in the captain pool. The hybrid-trained captain pool is small. The captain on Luminosity has.

The galley brief on a 107m at this rate band is the top end of commercial charter operation. Three chefs minimum, dietary briefing pre-charter, multi-cuisine service. The galley layout on Luminosity is, and the executive chef.

The Mediterranean calendar reality

Luminosity has run a full Mediterranean season every year since delivery in 2020. The western Med (Antibes, Saint-Tropez, Sardinia, Naples) is the default rotation, with selective eastern Med runs (Greece, Turkey) in May and October. Crew know the standard western Med ports and the captain has.

Caribbean season is irregular. The hybrid propulsion makes the Atlantic crossing meaningfully easier on fuel cost (the slow-cruise efficiency is a real saving on a 3,000-nautical-mile passage) but the principal's calendar drives whether the crossing happens.

Three things we would change

Two items. First, the 6-cabin format is the structural argument and the structural limit. For a charter party that wants to bring twelve adults across more than six cabin-units, Luminosity does not work and Lana does. This is not a flaw, it is the design choice. Second, the helicopter pad is. If touch-and-go only, the lack of stored-aboard helicopter operations is the constraint for a charter party that wants daily helicopter use without daily airport return.

A third caveat. The hybrid propulsion package introduces operating complexity that does not exist on a conventional twin-screw 100m. Maintenance windows are longer and the captain-and-engineer skill set required is narrower. For a charter party this is invisible until a maintenance issue causes a day's delay, which is rare but possible. The captain-and-engineer team on Luminosity has the relevant training. A first-time hybrid captain would not.

What we have passed on

We have passed on the Zuretti interior brief beyond noting that the materials and finish level are at the top of the Benetti private-side standard. We have also passed on recitation of the design genealogy from the prior Benetti 100m-plus deliveries.

We have passed on speculative reporting about the principal. The yacht is associated in the public record with a Saudi-region principal. We have used tags for the specific identification rather than report unsettled material as established.

Comparables

Lana at 107m Benetti, conventional propulsion, 9 cabins. The cabin-count alternative at the same yard and LOA. The choice between the two yachts is the choice between cabin size and cabin count.

Savannah at 83m Feadship, the original-era hybrid. Smaller, Feadship pedigree, the genealogy of the hybrid concept that Luminosity built on. The Dutch-yard hybrid alternative.

Chopi Chopi at 80m CRN, conventional. Smaller, Italian yard alternative. The step-down for a party that wants the Italian-yard service rhythm at a different rate band.

Madsummer at 95m Lürssen, conventional. The German-yard comparable at a smaller LOA and lower-but-comparable rate. The pedigree alternative.

Quattroelle at 86m Lürssen, conventional. The mid-90m bracket alternative for a party that does not need 100m-plus.

Booking pattern

Mediterranean peak weeks (July to mid-August) book 10 to 14 months out, with the Saint-Tropez and Sardinia weeks booking earliest. May, June, and September run at 6 to 9 months. Last-minute peak cancellations are rare and clear at posted rate. Shoulder cancellations have attracted 5 to 8 percent reductions in recent seasons.

If your charter party can take the 6-cabin format and wants the silent-at-anchor running for a 100m-plus platform, Luminosity is one of two answers in the world (Savannah at 83m is the other, at a smaller LOA). The hybrid premium does not show up as a rate premium on the central agent listing. It shows up as a lower APA draw-down and a quieter evening at anchor.
