Fiji is the South Pacific charter that most clients enjoy more than they expected to. The fleet is small, the rates run $180K to $650K per week for the 40m to 80m range as of May 2026, and the cruising ground is one of the few in the world where a 7-day itinerary does not require an offshore overnight. Twelve flying hours from Los Angeles, four from Auckland, and Port Denarau Marina sits 20 minutes from the airport. That logistics profile alone removes 60% of the friction that ruins more remote South Pacific weeks.
The charter season is May 1 to October 31. The trade winds settle in late May, the humidity drops, and the rain bands that hammer Viti Levu through the wet season retreat. November to April is cyclone season. Most quality yachts reposition to Australia, New Zealand, or back to the Med via the Pacific. If a broker offers you a Fiji charter in February, ask which yacht, where it is moored, and what the insurance addendum says. The answer is usually a small local boat with a thin track record.
